Last Saturday on February 3, ASCEND teamed up with 3 Rivers Outdoor Company and Cultivate to host a showing of select films from the 2017 5Point Film Festival - a yearly outdoor/adventure film festival held in Carbon, CO. The films that 5Point chose to take on the road were inspiring and full of adventure! More importantly though, was the massive turnout and seeing all of your faces under the same roof! Seriously, we were absolutely floored by the ticket sales and the good vibes everyone brought with them. Our local vendors left feeling encouraged by the support of the Pittsburgh outdoor community. They had meaningful interactions with many of you and asked us to say THANK YOU! Our raffle beneficiaries, SWPACC and First Waves, supported by a wide-variety of amazing local and national companies, split well over $1,000, which will be put to great use, so again… THANK YOU! Since this was our first film event, we’d love some feedback. Before you do though, we’ve gone ahead and critiqued ourselves with the following observations (that being said, we’d still love to hear from you!):Too crowded - It was nice having so many people, but film viewing was limited and not ideal for some folks toward the back, so we’ll likely limit ticket sales next time.Improving Sound - It was loud upfront and quiet in the back.
