2014 Food Revolution Day Pittsburgh
***BEGIN UPDATE***
Food Revolution Day was AWESOME! The ASCEND Team had a blast sharing one aspect of climbing (training) with hundreds of very enthusiastic children and adults. Some participants were naturally strong, others tried their hardest, and ALL were PUMPED, for ASCEND. This was our first community event, but it will definitely not be our last.
Please visit our Facebook page for pictures and shout outs. If you have any pictures or comments about our exhibit at the event, please send them our way at [email protected].
***END UPDATE***
Food Revolution Day is a global day of action for people to make a stand for good food and essential cooking skills. It’s a chance for people to come together within their homes, schools, workplaces and communities to cook and share their kitchen skills, food knowledge and resources. Food Revolution Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone by focusing on three simple actions – cook it, share it, live it.
So what does food have to do with climbing? A lot actually! But in this instance we’re talking about what food and climbing have to do with our community. Join ASCEND, 60+ other local, interactive exhibitors, and 20 chefs from Pittsburgh’s best restaurants at Food Revolution Day 2014.
ASCEND will be hosting a “Feats of Strength” exhibit where participants can challenge themselves for a shot at some fresh, hot-off-the-press ASCEND swag. How strong do you think you really are? Come and find out!
Join us this Friday, May 16th, from 3-6pm at the Obama Academy, 515 N Highland Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 to test your grip strength and eat some truly fresh and delicious food.
We’re excited to see you all there!
